What time will Netflix’s upcoming limited series ‘Crime Stories: India Detectives’ release around the world and is the series actually a true story?
The ‘True Crime’ television genre is everyone’s not-so-guilty pleasure. However, the vast majority of true crime documentary series are filmed years, if not decades, after the central incident actually occurred.
This week, Netflix are bringing us another true crime documentary series that adds an intense twist to this format, being filmed entirely in real time as crimes are reported.

A big moment for Kannada productions…
In July 2021, Netflix made a significant advancement into the Indian market and announce an ‘India South’ account page.
However, it has been slow-going since then for Kannada original productions, with only a handful titles being available on the platform on all Netflix’s international versions: Mundina Nildana, Uturn, Ayana, Wild Dog and Nathicharami.
As noted by the Deccan Herald, “the Kannada audience has constantly demanded more original content from the streaming giant.”
Whilst various titles from Southern and Central Asia are available in the Kannada audio language, the release of Crime Stories: India Detectives will mark the first original production on the streaming giant.
“With just four Kannada original films in its platform as of now, Netflix has not engaged much with the Kannada consumers on social media. The announcement of ‘Crime Stories: India’s Detectives!’ has finally brought some cheer to fans.” – Deccan Herald.
